"Packed. Stacked. Jacked."
Reading through Matthew 6 ...it's packed with truth (like the tough stuff that you have to chew on for a while). Towards the end, Jesus talks about not worrying about tomorrow, or food, or clothes, etc...
"For your heavenly Father KNOWS that you need all these things." Matt 6:23b
God knows what i need! He will provide EVERYTHING! He WILL PROVIDE!
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you." Matt 6:33
For a while (you know, back when i was little) i thought that meant if i seek God's kingdom first, i'll get all the food and clothes that i wanted. Sounded like a pretty good deal to me, right? Like piles of clothes stacked on one another so i actually have wardrobe options in the morning when i wake up!
So i started to seek God's kingdom, only to realize i had no idea what that even looked like/meant. I tried my best, but i definitely wasn't getting any new clothes. What's up? Dissapointed, i admitted that i didn't know how to seek God's kingdom on my own. So i started searching the Scriptures looking for clues to what it meant to seek God's kingdom and His righteousness. The more i read, the more i applied what i read to my everyday life, the more i saw God in everyday things, the more i talked with the Lord, the more i sought opportunities to share my Lord's awesomeness with the people around me - oh, it was only then that i caught a glimpse of God's kingdom.
Today, i'm still seeking God's kingdom...and God has been so faithful! so faithful in providing me with EVERYTHING that i need (need, not want). I'm not jacked on things of this world, but one thing for sure: i have NEVER received anything from this world even remotely close to the joy that comes through Christ who gives me strength.
