FREEDOM!
That moment your school goes on holiday and you can feel the energy, the adrenaline, the rush as everyone breathes "FREEDOM" pushing aside their homework for a time to bask in the days of uninterrupted leisure.
Just finished our two week long spring break and it's been a whirl wind! I don't know about everyone else, but I was busier (booked back to back days) over break than I have been all semester. I'm actually looking forward to starting school back up so I can breathe again. Haha! Not to say I haven't enjoyed it (because I truly have), but my body can only last so long on back to back days of go-go energy (must be getting old).
But to get down to business...I've recently completed an outline on Romans (talk about a task!). The content of the whole book of course is so rich, I can imagine contently chewing on it for the rest of my life. It was refreshing and insightful to look back from a 1,000 foot view and attempt to grasp the big picture message Paul was sending the church in Rome. I think the thing that stood out to me the most this time around was: the blessing of righteousness. I'd never really meditated on how ONLY in light of our justification by Christ I can have peace with God. And the peace I have is from the foundation of the grace of God. It's this grace that gives me a rest and a security that brings about a hopeful peace. I'm guaranteed a salvation from His wrath to come. I am promised no condemnation because of Jesus blood. I have been freed from a life of slavery to sin. I now have the option to choose righteousness and resist the devil. And the benefit from freedom of sin is sanctification and eternal life. Talk about "FREEDOM!" What a wonderful truth! What a wonderful Spirit that manifests Himself inside a fallen, broken human being to redeem it to Life. And there is NOTHING that can separate me from the love of God. I am sealed and I get to experience the lavishing riches of His glory.
I am so undeserving. So I rest, beyond thankful, ready to serve with the breathe I have left, and eager to meet to my King face-to-face.
