To all my ladies out there:

So what I have to say, you probably already know… but i'm going to talk a little bit about what draws women to the Lord.
Pretty much the most obvious one is ladies want to be loved and valued. In a secular world, if girls aren’t feeling love/value in their family/home, they are going to try to seek out love through other avenues (usually ends up with other men). Same for the ladies of the church – if they feel they are not loved, they are going to try to find it through something else. The body of Christ should offer an unconditional love - ladies will be valued and accepted for who they are and the beautiful personality God has given them (not man’s measure of beauty). I would definitely say that is one thing that attracted me – the promise of love from the Father and the amount of love the body of Christ had for me. I was pretty shocked that someone outside of my family would actually care that much about someone they didn’t even know. I was used to love from my family because of course I was blessed to grow up in a family where love and value, especially for children, was placed VERY high. But dude - these people didn't even know me? And yet I felt a love coming from outside my family, especially through elder ladies and youth pastors that took me under their wing while i was growing up.
Girls want a place where they fit in – not in a way that they are conformed to their surroundings or blend into the background (because most of the girls that I have talked to want to be their own individual/ want to let loose their own personality but they feel a lot of pressure from the world to conform in order to not be "looked down upon"). Girls want to fit in a setting where they are needed and play an important individual role in helping through a service. I think this may go back to why God created us – as “help mates.” We were created for that role and fit it quite nicely...some ladies may get rather defensive at this remark because they feel like they are de-valued or belittle to only a role of “servant-hood.” But they will get over it as God gives them the grace. Took me a while to get there - but once I finally was able to humble myself to a quiet and submissive life before the Lord, He started to open up opportunities of service in other people’s lives that I would not have ever dreamed I would be doing. And it’s AWESOME to see how God is working through me to further His kingdom. I am just so humbled by that. But i would never be here unless i had learned the importance of submitting to the Lord.
When I think personally, what attracted me to Christ? (...note: this may just be me, so not “all” the ladies out there feel this way or need this in their lives - I thought I would just mention it) I was really attracted to the adventure of Christianity. I was attracted to the cool-amazing-supernatural stories of the Bible and of individuals/missionaries that had experienced it first hand. There was something about living a life filled with the Holy Spirit that excited me. It offered more than what I was receiving ‘just going to church every Sunday.’ I had Jesus in my heart, but I realized there was more! And I was like – hook me up! And everyday I feel like I find “there is MORE!” it just never gets boring There is just something about living a life led by the Holy Spirit... well, first, you never really have to worry about where to go or what to do or what to say, because you just trust in the Holy Spirit to lead. Then, the adventure of NOT knowing where you are going or what you are doing or what you will say and trusting that He will provide – I mean WOW! I’ve never done anything crazier than following the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is exciting! That in itself is enough to get me hooked for life, but then there are all these extra benefits in Christ and it’s just like: BONUS! Peace, joy, contentment, love, prayer etc…
So, my ladies...this is my encouragement to you! What you are looking for in life - you will find in Jesus Christ. This is not just a cliche saying - it is the truth. You are not going to find anything in money, clothes, boys, or popularity. You have been deceived in thinking pursuing these things will fulfill you. Go to the Lord. Once you find the truth - stand tall. Raise the bar from what the world tells you you are as a women. Set a standard of conduct for the little ones that are looking up to you. And set an example for those who are older. Do not let anyone look down on you because of your youth. As a women, you have the power of influence. Don't misuse this. Rather, use your power to influence others for the Lord. i encourage you to value your body as the temple of the Lord. Respect yourself as a lady.
