"Nuclear Bombardment" and attacks from the devil...

so...i'm running the risk of being labeled a HUGE nerd at posting this, however - i will. i'm taking Chemistry 2 this semester and actually have really enjoyed it only because God's creation is so complex and fascinating. After every class i am more and more amazed at the creativity of God and the intricate design of small and invisible phenomena. But we were studying nuclear bombardment today and i was struck by a very powerful analogy related to spiritual attack we face in our lives as believers and soldiers of Christ.
Within an nuclear bombardment reaction there is a particle accelerator that is used to increase the kinetic energy of positively charged particles. This allows the particles to overcome their electrostatic repulsion by the nucleus. This is an amazing and powerful reaction! i feel that i simply cannot do justice to the complexity of this process or how powerful of an anology it is as it relates...but just like in Christ...the power of the Holy Spirit increases our "kinetic" energy (energy of motion) - our energy in Christ. We are positively charged as believers, baptized into Christ. God is the 'proton' in our life (if you will). Then, we are able to overcome the attacks we face from the evil one (electrostatic repulsion). Maybe you would understand it better if you knew a little bit more about chemisty. i realize that analogies can only be used so far until they are broken down...but this - i was just like "wow!" even chemistry can help you paint the mysteries of spiritual warfare. Who would have thunk? :)

Waterfall

Salty water drops threatening to take the plunge over the precipice to their doom. Undaunted by the heights, they teeter at the edge. Their kinsmen closely pressing in from behind. No room for hesitation, yet mid jump...second thoughts. They grope the lashes, Desperately clinging, fighting to remain, to stay...to go back home. Day 1 of the treasure hunt...

This morning i bounced out of bed in anticipation and excitement of seeking my treasure...after working with my client at 6am i opened up the Word (which is unheard of for me early in the morning). After the inspiration of memorizing 1 Peter i jumped into my car and headed to work. I unconsciously flipped on the radio, only to second think it and turn it off. The silence was daunting but refreshing. Soon prayers and praise started streaming through my mouth like no body was watching. Absolutely refreshed and alive, i pulled into work. Work was long and studying this afternoon was dreadfully boring, but b/c i had my eyes on Jesus everything was in perspective and no bad attitudes! Praise the Lord! I do not say any of this to boast...i'm not perfect but i was just so encouraged by the power of the Holy Spirit working in my life.
